Motor laminations, 550Hz PM motor

Motor laminations, 550Hz PM motor

(OP)
Hello,

My company has built two prototype 10kW PM motors with nominal frequency at 550Hz. The stator and rotor iron are built up of an 0.20 mm electrical steel sheet material(NO20). The sheets for the prototypes have been lasercut.

As we are preparing a larger number of produced units (a gradually increasing production starting with approx. 10 units), we need to focus on production cost. Therefore, I believe that lasercutting is not an option.

Any helpful tips on suitable materials and/or suitable manufacturers?

RE: Motor laminations, 550Hz PM motor

Suggestion: The laser cutting is somewhat related to the better product quality. What would be a quality criterion for the alternative?
