Banki/Ossberger cross flow water turbines

(OP)
It seems that these turbines are or were popular in Europe.  I have been approached to assess the installation of a hydroelectric generator for a small dam (head <or=20').
My reasearch about the dam and its water supply will be starting soon, however, I would like some opinions(positive and negative)  about the turbines under caption and where some of them are located in the Northeast.  I have past engineering studies therefore, I am not looking for such info. but I am interested at other facets such as reliability, unforseen maintenance, approximate costs of existing installations, inflated manufacturer's claims, etc.
