How to glue Pharmed tubing

How to glue Pharmed tubing

How to glue Pharmed tubing

(OP)
I am trying to find a glue that would work well with Pharmed tubing.
Specifically to glue Pharmed tubing to a Silicon stopper.

I have tried Loctite and silicone glue. They do the job, but only to an extent. Pharmed is extremely chemical resistive, and seems to not bond with the glue.

Ultrasonic welding?

RE: How to glue Pharmed tubing

What exaqctly is pharmed tubing made of. Pharmed sounds like a performance based critera rather than aaterial type.

Silicons are thermoset I believe, so cannot be welded. Maybe the tubing can be riverted over with ultrasonics, depending on that the actual material is.

I take it both are elastomers which complicates adhesion as the glue has to move with the materials it is joining.

Pat

RE: How to glue Pharmed tubing

ergo 5861 cyanoacrylate will bond to PharMed apparently.  Not sure if it will bond to silicone.

@ patprimmer - That is my main issue as well; I don't know what PharMed tubing is made of exactly.

@ MintJulep - The silicone bits are being molded, and we have purchased the molding tool and everything. So changing that might be a long shot.

I will look into Ergo 5861.
