Pile Grounding Question

Pile Grounding Question

Pile Grounding Question

(OP)
We are having a project wherein one building structure is using pile foundations at a depth of 25 meters from grade level. We are intending to use the pile foundation as a grounding electrode and will specify ground clamps/conductors embedded in the pile foundations.

By default, we will use the building corner pile foundations. However, we have doubts on how to select number of pile foundations to be used between these corner piles since the building is 70 x 50 meters.

Is there an industry practice on what is the minimum pile spacing to be used to determine which and how many pile foundations may be used as a groundign electrode?

Any experienced inputs are welcome.

For some unknown reason, I have posted this yesterday (October 25, 2011) and can't find it now so I have to re-post it again.
