Drawing views displaying in wire frame.

Drawing views displaying in wire frame.

Drawing views displaying in wire frame.

(OP)
It's Friday morning, my noodle is well and truly fried hence I'm suffering from a considerable amount of brain fade. Could someone please tell me why the components in my assembly are displaying in wire frame without hiding lines? I've messed around with represmtations and the style, but to no avail. Please put me out of my misery.

For the record, I'm a massive NX fan, always have been, but I'm very dissapointed in the stability of NX7.5, it's caused me more problems in 3 months from our 400 users than I care to count, I've gone from 3 hours a week on help desk issues to permanently on help desk. Siemens are even having to supply their staff to assist because some of the issues are just so damn complex.

Best regards

RE: Drawing views displaying in wire frame.

There is possibly two components interferring with each other, in other words one may be partially inside another one when they should only be touching each other.
In a rcent situation here, we had a press fit pin that was being put into a hole that was slightly smaller than the pin, so we needed to to some manual view dependent editing.

RE: Drawing views displaying in wire frame.

JCB, if any threads are depicted in your drawing you might want to change that toggle. Especially if you have pipe threads. UG has never liked threads and the tapered threads on pipe ends really p-it-off

RE: Drawing views displaying in wire frame.

You are loading the model Lightweight "mode" ?

RE: Drawing views displaying in wire frame.

Edit to the previous message:
I have been playing around with the 7.5 Lightweight loading and found that it can do exactly this.
I did the simple test of a single component in a single level assy, and a drawing displaying the assembly. I.e
 Drawing
    |
     Assembly
        |
         Component
The above structure saved and closed.

Then if i have the load option "Load Lightweight" active and open the drawing, the component representation will "shine" thru in the drawing views, looking like "wireframe" and no hidden edge.

The problem is that from the drafting application i cannot switch the representation of the component...

I'm not sure what caused our problem , it was an isolated incident and we have not had a problem since.
