Flange torque specs?

Flange torque specs?

Flange torque specs?

(OP)
I am trying to find the recommended torque for cast iron flanges, 3" and 4" 150#, and 4" 300# flange. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

RE: Flange torque specs?

Are you sure they are cast iron, and not coarse-grained forged steel?  Typically, 125# flanges are the only ones available in cast iron.

RE: Flange torque specs?

Duwe6  ...ADD 250#!!!

jmilano  ...Not sure if it is clear, but 150# & 300# are ASME ratings for forged steel flanges ...as Duwe6 pointed out. 125# & 250# are cast iron ratings.
According to pg. 162 of my Tube-Turn Catalog 411
..."detailed flange calculations are made following the Rules for Bolted Flanged Connections in Section VIII (Unfired Pressure Vessels Code) of the ASME Boiler Construction Code"
