Add a decal to model?

Add a decal to model?

Add a decal to model?

(OP)
Can a decal be applied to the outside of a model in AutoCAD 2012?
I am trying to apply a "braided hose" decal as in Inventor.
I am certain that the decal will not transfer correctly from inventor to autocad as is.
If a decal is not possible , can a hatch be applied to the outside of a tube? and can i create a "braided hose" hatch?

RE: Add a decal to model?

Decal?
or do you really mean material? (AutoCAD term)

RE: Add a decal to model?

Uhmmm, the question was about AutoCAD, not Inventor.

RE: Add a decal to model?

Yes, I know. But AutoCAD can assign the same material (texture) to an object - and you can copy it from the above mentioned sample block.

thanx guys,

after posting i figured out i needed a material in this case. I copied a picture of a braided hose. cropped it in paint and saved as a bitmap. Created a new material called metal braided. Looks good . thanx again
