Is there a command which turns on datum curve recognition?
Is there a command which turns on datum curve recognition?
(OP)
I've inherited a model that has several swept blends, defined by cylindrical equations. However, when I try to add additional datum curves, or try to redefine the trajectory of existing swept blends, Pro/E acts like these curves cannot be selected.
To waste more time, I started a separate file "test model" and tried a few curves, and these worked. However, no curves work in any of the instances of the generic.
Is there a buried command (config.pro perhaps) that is causing the sweeps not to function?

Again a little more detail may be of use.

I received an incomplete model from someone else. It has most of the swept blends already done, but lacks a couple more.
The test model was done outside of the generic (not related in anyway), and it worked.
The swept blends were created at the instance level. Basically, the generic is a raw casting, and the instance is the machined part. The swept blend cuts are grooving that wrap around the outside of the casting cylinder. These follow a trajectory of several datum curves defined by cylindrical equations. The curves are selected using the one by one method, but after selecting them, Pro/E asks for at least one reference.
Oddly, if I select the edge of the casting, the curve is instantly recognized.
Another odd thing, the swept blends already in the model cannot have the curves redefined, even when using the trajectories in current use... weird...
Maybe pro/e thru an electron and this file is toast? I'd hate to start over. I've spent several days just trying to create a detail drawing of this part (equations don't show as dimensions on a sheet drawing).

Also when you refer to the one-by-one method are you querying one curve then cntrl clicking the others into one? This can cause its own errors too. Use the shift key for selecting a proper chain (which can be combined into a single reference chain or curve).
I have ran into the same problem you are describing but it has been quite a while and i'm not 100% sure what we did to rectify it.
Anyways I hope you get it figured out.

I'll try modifying in the generic and see if that helps. Also, yes, I was using cntl to select all four datum curves. Will try the shift which should make them into a chain.
