Heat exchanger cost

Heat exchanger cost

Heat exchanger cost

(OP)
Hi, someone could help me? I need to estimate the cost of an HRSG and i need a correlation between cost and heat exchange surface.

I know that should be something like this:

C=specific_cost*A^exp

I looked everywhere on the net but i found only contradictionary value.

RE: Heat exchanger cost

Hi theborg1

Try this: http://matche.com/EquipCost/index.htm

Don't forget to update the cost on the basis of:

- reference year
- reference place (e.g. from USA to Canada)
- type of cost (e.g. FOB, etc.)

Thanks but unfortunately I need the function.

RE: Heat exchanger cost

Hi theborg1,

I'd do it for you if I had time, but one way will be to price several sizes with the tool that Matt17 gave you, then do an exponential or polynomial regression. I assume your material and pressure would be fixed, yes?

Good on ya,

Goober Dave

Thath's could be a good idea, thanks I didn't think about that...

RE: Heat exchanger cost

Hi theborg1

suggestion that DRWeig gives you work fine (I suggest the exponential).

Don't forget that all the functions that you'll develop are valid within a specific limit, i.e. minimum and maximum capacity which are defined for each equipment.
