Suddenly SW2010 SP4 hangs on start up.  It gets stuck on the splash screen.  If I start it up AGAIN..the 2nd copy will not hang.  Then I go in and kill the 1st...and it all seems OK.  Any ideas?

Go to your Rx tool. In that tool there is a tab for system maintenance. Part of that is a cleanup of your temp files. Try that.

Logic dictates that if it was working and now is not something changed. Temp files are one of those things that change and fill up.

Second, look at your log files for that machine. See if something has gone awry. Fix that first.

Thanks for the tips.

I just did a complete re-install...and the problem is still there!

This is a standalone license install.  Per the EULA, you can install 2x...once on your desktop...and once on a laptop so long as you NEVER use them at the same time.

This is my laptop install.

The problem started when I set up various folders to be shared between my desktop and laptop over my network.  The only 2 pcs on the network are my desktop and laptop.
