Concrete Foundation in Brine environment.

Concrete Foundation in Brine environment.

(OP)
Hi
A concrete foundation to be designed in a brine environment. Although the brine solution is pumped out of the pit, there is always some brine that comes into contact before laying the foundation.

Question:
1. is there any way or material that can laid (like a mattress on the floor) to prevent brine ingression before laying foundation?
2. What is the best way to protect concrete from brine ingression after laying the foundation.

Thanks.

RE: Concrete Foundation in Brine environment.

Dense concrete and lithium or nitrite admixture.

RE: Concrete Foundation in Brine environment.

Sorry...that should be nitrates, not nitrites.  Lithium, sodium and calcium nitrates can be used to mitigate corrosion.  Most info is available on sodium nitrate admixture.
