Steel Deck Warping

Steel Deck Warping

Steel Deck Warping

(OP)
I need to warp some 1.5" x 22 ga. roof deck.  I intend to use the deck for shear resistance etc.

Does anyone know where I might find information on how much roof deck can be warped before it's a problem?  Is there a reference some place or do individual deck suppliers need to be consulted?

Thanks,

KK

RE: Steel Deck Warping

Either get ahold of SDI (Steel Deck Institute) or contact a supplier if you know of a specific product.

Vulcraft would probably help.

RE: Steel Deck Warping

Not sure what you want to do. There are presses that can curve it lengthwise in the field. Bending laterally is simple, so you could make a compound curve. Neither reduces the strength for practical curves.
