Detail for connection between pressure and gravity pipe

Detail for connection between pressure and gravity pipe

(OP)
Hi,
I have connection between gravity sewer pipe (GRP 800 mm) and pressure pipe (Ductile 800 mm) and the output gravity (GRP 1200 mm), as you can see in attached file. I want to know the principles who to design the connection between pipes, or drawing for similar case.

RE: Detail for connection between pressure and gravity pipe

You have to follow the connection details required by the local agency having authority over the sewer.

In general, you want the force main to enter on the opposite side of the MH discharge. That way there will be no change in the direction of flow.

The force main entrance elevation should be within 2 ft of the MH discharge pipe. Otherwise, you should consider a drop manhole.

Note that the force main piping should be restrained before the nmanhole. Use a flexible compression connector where the pipe enters the manhole wall.

RE: Detail for connection between pressure and gravity pipe

[You might consider putting some "flow arrows" on your sketch, so all readers are absolutely sure what exactly is going on at this junction -- by "pressure pipe", do you e.g. really mean say "forcemain", with flow intended to go away into other pipes?]
