Is this possible, I have these AUTOCAD files and I was wondering if it's possible to save them on autodesk under a different extension so that I could open the part in abaqus, help please

only by STEP, i think.

You can do acis (.sat) as well as IGES also. I remember reading somewhere that Abaqus handles acis files better than other types, but I haven't had any real issues with any of them.

yes, that's true, my mistake. it can import acis almost instantaneously.
