Risa 3D 7.0 converter to CIS/2 needed...

Risa 3D 7.0 converter to CIS/2 needed...

(OP)
Anyone know of a way to get Risa 7.0 files converted to CIS/2 format?  I downloaded the free file converter from the Risa site and found out that it is only compatible with the newest version of Risa.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

RE: Risa 3D 7.0 converter to CIS/2 needed...

Version 7.0 does not have the "detailing" sections necessary for the steel detailing information to be stored for 2-way round tripping of CIS/2 data.

However, the basic RISA-3D file format for members and joints and such remains the same in the current version as the old version.  Therefore, I would think that you could still convert one of this older 3D files into a CIS/2 format. Unless, our development staff is testing to see if the "detailing" information is in the file first.  Does the CIS/2 translator give you an error message when you attempt to convert the file?

Turns out the translator DID work for the older version.  no errors so far.  I'll keep ypu posted on the overall success of the transfer.
