Something in the Pipeline

Something in the Pipeline

RE: Something in the Pipeline

Rather thrilling for the workers I bet!

Thanks BigInch

Goober Dave

RE: Something in the Pipeline

What's their standard preparation for such creature possibilities?

RE: Something in the Pipeline

Duck Tape and Snake charmers.

does this form part of OH&S policy.

It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. (Sherlock Holmes - A Scandal in Bohemia.)

RE: Something in the Pipeline

Makes one hell of a "pig" or maybe just a new idea for one.

RE: Something in the Pipeline

I think those critters must've overheard some pipe engineers talking about pigs coming down the line, and decided to hang out there for a free meal...

OMG!  You're learning!  bigsmile

Top marks for btrueblood - one of the best this year.

RE: Something in the Pipeline

The first photo made the rounds several years ago. Believe it is misattributed here to Brazil (and has also been since misattributed as "18-footer" taken in Texas, as everything is of course bigger there, as well as misattributed to Florida Powere and Light work in Orlando area).
If I remember correctly, however, that gator was actually corralled on a pipe construction project in Tampa, FL area several years ago and was near 14 feet long.
A couple near that long (~13 feet) have actually been taken just this year apparently on legal hunts in the South, and one of those apparently by a "good ol' boy family group, snagging same from a pontoon boat somewhere between AL and GA (bet that scene would make good theater!)
The seond pic is apparently per Snopes a legitimate pile of rattlesnakes (and I saw something similar to this involving water moccasins myself many years ago in the spring, a memory that still gives me heebie-jeebies!)

RE: Something in the Pipeline

Don't believe photos like that.

It's just a croc.

Regards,

SNORGY.

RE: Something in the Pipeline

A few years ago my boss told me that a Croc had been spotted on the banks of a local river (not far from where he knew our family had some property). While he is a good guy, frankly I didn't believe him until I saw the photograph.

Everyone have a good evening!

RE: Something in the Pipeline

My folks used to live outside of Gibson, LA.  One morning we were sitting at the kitchen table trying to decide what to have for breakfast.  My step dad perked up and told me to go out the front an lite the gas grill.  A few seconds later I heard a shot and he came around the house with a 3 ft aligator.  When that tail hit the grill it was still body temp (whatever that is for a cold blooded animal at 8:00 am).  Aligator that fresh is so good that I just can't order it in restraunts (where it has been frozen for a few years).

RE: Something in the Pipeline

I had no idea that so much effort was involved in moose trapping!

RE: Something in the Pipeline

brimmer,
I REALLY need permission to use that picture in my class.  I have a really boring text-only slide telling people that open ditch is a liability.  That picture would really help that slide.

Do you own it?  Can I use it?

RE: Something in the Pipeline

Not a pipeline but the house.
My sister's house.

One spring day my brother in  law decided to clear the ash dump.
He opened the door and stepped back smartish.
It appeared that a Rattlesnake considered it a desirable residence.

The young snakes were amusing the way they went all rigid and contorted and tried to imitate twigs - till I disturbed them and they realised playing possum wasn't working.
Just as well had hopped it by then.

RE: Something in the Pipeline

David - I don't really see any issue with that. You'll have to clear it with the moose though to protect the innocent...

RE: Something in the Pipeline

Cool, I'll gen up a hoof print for the release form.  Thanks

David

RE: Something in the Pipeline

so Brimmer is a Zoomer --- no problem with that.
