[NX7] Reuse Component auto-matching length

[NX7] Reuse Component auto-matching length

[NX7] Reuse Component auto-matching length

(OP)
Hi,
in the help is not described and I have doubts.
When I add my reuse component, the auto-matching recognize the right dimension, but the length no.
In the picture attached, the plate is 50 mm height, but NX proposes the screw 20 mm height.
This is the correct behavior or I wrong some setting in my family parts ?

Thank you...

Using NX 8 and TC8.3

RE: [NX7] Reuse Component auto-matching length

have dragged the srew over the planat face or have you dragged over the highlighted cylindric face of the hole?

Hi uwam2ie,
first...thank you for your effort and sorry for the not clear image.
The screw is the gray and I've dragged over the highlighted cylindric face of the hole.

Thank you...

on the standard part in the reuse lib -> RMB  there is a context menu whtich offers you edit KRX file in the bottom of this new dialo there is a matching setting
hope it helps

Hi,
the auto-matching for diameter works fine, but for length no.
For example on a plate whit 50 mm thickness there is an hole of 11 mm.
After the drag&drop on the hole, the dialog of my screw is M10 x 20 and not M10 x 60 as the NX machinery screw.

I used the DIAMETER and LENGTH  nomenclature as suggest in the GTAC documentation, but for length I'm not able to obtain the right result.

I can't use NX Machinery parts, because we use NX from V11 and all our standard parts are as part families.

Thank you...

length...
can't you use the fastener assembly for the length control?
old partfamilies hmm existing data migration a long story. The siemens lib you have to configure, too. They are only templates in most cases you have to add columns with spezific company (erp) nummers descriptions constraints /- IMHO: rework the old partfamilies to the actual nx version ....
don't forget to rebuild the children

But you can manualy change length of your bolt, then you inserting it. NX does not know what nut, how many wasers you will use, so the length depends only on you.

Hi eex23,
this is true, but I'm looking for a reason why if I drag&drop a NX machine library, the length screw is set or proposes more then the thickness plate, while my parts no.
The variable that I use to pilot the length screw is the same of the NX machine part, but the behavior is different.
Attached my example.

Thank you...
