NX8 CAM: Leading Edge of Insert Preventing Cut Region Detection

NX8 CAM: Leading Edge of Insert Preventing Cut Region Detection

(OP)
I'm trying to finish an ID profile within a narrow face groove. Both the insert and the holder fit inside with clearance. However, depending upon the orientation angle of the insert, it seems the leading edge of the insert is being extended beyond the insert itself and "contacting" the lower portion of the face groove, limiting what Cut Region can detect.
I've attached some pictures illustrating this.
In the first the angle was set to 300° permitting the insert to travel nearly all the way into the face groove.

In the second picture the angle is set to 270°.
You can clearly see that it's the leading edge of the insert that is determining what I'm able to cut.

BTW there are no Trim Planes, nor Points being used within Cut Regions. Also, I'm on NX8.0.0.25 Win7 64-bit.

What setting am I missing? Or could this be a glitch?
