Saving a copy of a drawing & part

Saving a copy of a drawing & part

Saving a copy of a drawing & part

(OP)
I am trying to save time and save a copy of a part (and therefore its associated drawing) with a new name to keep a similar drawing scheme.  What I have noticed is that when I save the part to the new name a new drawing is created with the new name but it still references the old part.  Does anyone know of a way to save a copy of a part (with a different name) and automatically create a copy of a drawing referencing that new part?  I am runnning Creo 1.0 M010.

Thanks in advance,

-J-

Just solved my own issue, it requires that both the part and drawing be in session for the rename and new association to work. I had been trying to copy the part and drawing without the drawing in session.

RE: Saving a copy of a drawing & part

If both part & drawing have the same name, then adding the config option

rename_drawings_with_object both

will allow you to save as, and both be saved with the new name.
