Facet Bodies appearing in Assemblies NX7.5

Facet Bodies appearing in Assemblies NX7.5

Hoping someone can advise me.

On opening an assembly with no child parts opened I still see faceted representations of the child parts. How can I stop this from happening?

RE: Facet Bodies appearing in Assemblies NX7.5

Could be one of two things.  Either you've created a lightweight (faceted) set of of bodies at the Assembly level, which normally would not be visible when the Components are actually opened.  You can check this by selecting one of the 'Components' and if the status line says 'Lightweight Body selected', then that's what you have.  Now if you don't wont them, they can simply be selected and deleted like any other object.  This will have NO effect on the Components themselves.

Now the second issue is that you might have created what's called 'Product Outline' which is a VERY lightweight representation of an Assembly which again will only appear when the Components have not been loaded.  Generally speaking these 'Product Outlines' are created translucent, but they can be completely opaque like normal solid displays.  If this is what you have you may notice that you're not able to select any of the 'Components', but you can toggle the display of the 'Product Outline' using the icon found on the 'Assemblies' toolbar.  Actually the reason why you can't select any of these very lightweight representations is because they are automatically created on a visible but non-selectable layer (this is set in Customer Defaults).  So if you wish to delete this 'Product Outline', you'll need to set the layer to be selectable and then you can select and delete them, similar to any other object.

Anyway, check these two situations and let us know if they was it.
