Steam Nozzle

Steam Nozzle

Can someone point me to steam nozzle photo - not sure what it is?  I'm sizing a 100HP 150 psi steam boiler for a process and the manufacturer recommends a 2-1/2" steam nozzle.

The boiler comes with a 4" flanged supply connection & thought I would use a 4" stop check & OSY valve.  Is the nozzle a transition fitting?

RE: Steam Nozzle

Sounds like the mfr thinks that a 2½" outlet is big enough.  Just use an Ecc. Reducer [flat on bottom] to go to your 4" header line.

I don't have a 4" header...just 1 boiler serving the process.  The installation manual has a table that calls for the 2-1/2" nozzle.

RE: Steam Nozzle

You amy have the wrong manual.  Assuminging that your 4" nozz is actually your steam outlet.

When speaking "boiler & pressure vessel", a nozzle is the flange [on a short neck] that sticks out from the shell of your boiler/vessel.
