Spread footing

(OP)
I have steel braced frame foundation. I am using grade beam between steel braced frame columns. For global overturning  if one of the footing has uplift other one has downward load. Due to downward load on the other side of the footing i can check the footing for sliding. I will check grade beam for horizontal load acting at base. But to check soil pressure at footing base do i have to consider any moment from horizontal load.?

RE: Spread footing

You will get moment in that grade beam, so it should be checked.

After all, that grade beam is trying to restrict the rotation and displacement in one footing by tieing back to the other footing.
