Can MS Project finish dates driven be driven by Excel data?

Can MS Project finish dates driven be driven by Excel data?

(OP)
Hi,

I'm building a simple timeline projection system for an engineering department. We specialize in aerospace manufacturing and have a series of projects running at once. I'm taking data from the initial quote (time per operation, setup, assembly, etc) and working backwards from the delivery date. The point is to then figure out when our department needs to be finished processing the part so that their is enough time to manufacture it and ship on time. That part is done in excel. I have a form that takes all the variables and then provides a first operation completion date based on the predetermined shipping date. I want to now visualize this information in MS Project using a Gantt Chart. QUESTION: I have two excel cells, one is the finish by date the other is the number of days it will all take. Can this information drive the finish date and duration in my MS Project?
