Change licence path

Change licence path

Change licence path

(OP)
Hello,
When we run Abaqus we get the licence from a server. The location of the licence has now changed but I can't find how to update abaqus and tell it the new location. Any help? I've tried going through the licence section in the manual but it keeps sending me in circles.
I think I need to get to a file that I open with a text editor and then change the licence path.

Thanks
George

RE: Change licence path

Isn't the license locked to the server? Why aren't you talking to the Abaqus help desk about this?

The server has been changed and the licence has been installed on it and works fine. The problem I'm having is updating the licence path on my PC to point it at the new licence server.
This should be fairly straight forward but is proving difficult.

RE: Change licence path

I think you may need to run the installer (for just the license not the software) to get it to look in the new location.

RE: Change licence path

You could try changing the 'abaquslm_license_file' variable in the abaqus environment file.

On my machine, the file is in the site folder of the abaqus install and is called 'abaqus_v6.env'.  May be called differently depending on version/build...

Thanks for the replies. Martin it was in the abaqus_v6.env file.
I had to search for the file but now it works.
Cheers
George
