A customer requirement is that our stenciled notes "WEIGHT 2 TONNE" is to appear on our drawing visible and filled in. One effort has been text on model, extrude. We have not found a way to have that appear Filled. Another is divide face using the text. This works, kind of. If the Font is open anywhere at all, when we use area fill or hatch, the appearance go nuts. Also on non-planar faces they always blow up. Miracles gladly accepted!

RE: text to appear filled on draft from model

How will this text be manufactured on the production part?

If you can successfully cut the face with divide face would it work just to change the color of the cut out letters to black?

I am using divide face while I am respondning to this. The text is to be painted on as a stencil. Currently I have waited 30 minutes for the area fill to complete 8 numerals. What I am stumbling on is black divide face is giving grief to be scene on the drawing itself. It looks wonderful on the model but invisible on the drawing. Thanks for responding, by the way.

I can area fill text at the rate of about 1 letter per second.  Exactly what tolerance are you using?  Are you using the 'Solid Fill' as the Pattern option?  Remember, it only has to LOOK filled when the drawing it plotted to scale or exported as a PDF.  Zooming up and seeing the 'hatch' lines should not be the criteria for whether it's 'filled' or not.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

How physically large are the letters, in terms of the scale of the view?

After struggling with sheet 2 of that drawing, I went to sheet 1. Same process and data. The total time for sheet 1, about 3 minutes. Thanks for the suggestions and help. Sometimes things just don't go according to Hoyle.
