Wilson Greatbatch, close to the hearts of millions, developer of implantable pacemaker and many other devices, died this morning in the presence of beloved family. He was 92.
Mr. Greatbatch developed a widely used implantable pacemaker and power source, benefiting and saving the lives of millions.
His life should be a model for engineers, designers, inventors and technologists, showing the far reaching and beneficial impacts that our work can have. He may have passed, but thanks to him, the beat goes on.
