Need help with keyless & Taperlock Bushing designations

Need help with keyless & Taperlock Bushing designations

Need help with keyless & Taperlock Bushing designations

(OP)
Greetings,
Lately I've had to deal with some QC issues with different keyless & taper-lock bushings.  In getting the specs lined out I've noticed a long list of abbreviations or "series" used to denote the type of bushing.   I've searched high and low to shed some light on these abbreviations without any success.  I've searched all my drafting books, my ANSI books, machinist handbook, the web.etc and have found very little.
So I've elected to post here in hope that someone can clarify or direct me towards a source that can.

Examples of such series are: SK, SF, JA, QT, SD, SH, SDS, H, E, F, J, M, N.etc

Are these "series" abbreviations proprietary names belonging to specific brands or are they in reference to some descriptive standard?  Can anyone tell me what exactly these abbreviations represent?  Or otherwise list a source that would define these?
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

CS

Recently, we've been running into more and more taper-locks that simple do not lock.  Also, often we are having problems where the tapped removal-jacking screw holes are too shallow, which means removal must be done with a large convincing tool instead.  Generally we're finding these to be off-brand knockoffs that our vendors are substituting.
