Torsion Spring - Animated Model

Torsion Spring - Animated Model

(OP)
I have seen and automated Compression/Extension Springs using SolidWorks, but never a Torsion Spring other than sweeping a circular profile around some advanced compound curve.

How can I automate this?  Does anyone have a reference or tutorial on how to mate this with, say, a spring return door hinge?

Torsion spring has adjustable positions.

Regenerating helical sweeps is a bit time-intensive.  You may want to explore some sort of shorcut, e.g. modelling the arms and coils as separate bodies and just moving the arms.
