assigning movements to elements in Abaqus
assigning movements to elements in Abaqus
(OP)
Hello everybody.
I am more or less a begginer in abaqus. I am having dificulties in assigning movements for certain rigid or deformable bodies by predefined movement. For example tool moves in x direction which causes deformation (bending) of another body moving prependicular to x axis. the tool doesnt move with constant velocity so therefore excell or txt file - NC program, should be assigned for movement. I tried defining BC's and LOAD conditions but i cannot set it right to use data from that NC programe. How do i do that?
can somebody please give me a hint of some kind?
please
kind regards
Matej

RE: assigning movements to elements in Abaqus
You can assign curve to boundary condition. You can do it with keyword *AMPLITUDE. In this case your displacemet/velocity/accelration will vary over the time.

There is no restriction to copy data from Excel file.
Just select two columns which you need copy them (Edit -> Copy).
Open Abaqus/CAE, Tools -> Amplitude -> Create -> Tabular -> Continue -> Right Click on space where You can input data -> Paste.
Abaqus/CAE has also additional plugin to read data from *.xls files. Plugins -> Tools -> Excel Utilities
I do not know is it true for all Abaqus/CAE versions. It is true for 6.10-1.
