Elastomer closed cell insulation for heat conservation

Elastomer closed cell insulation for heat conservation

Peers,

Can anyone pls advise on the closed cell elastomer insulation for heat conservation below 120deg C?  It is industry practice to use mineral/rock wool, cellular glass for heat conservation, but not really sure about the limitation of elastomeric material as HC insulation on gas process piping.  Since the temp range > 90 -150deg C is quite critical to avoid CUI, I expect there are some previous industry experience on using this material.

Cheers

I know they use the strong type of styrofoam with alu. sheeting.
Sometimes wooden blocks as supporting when You need a fixed support.

The CINI Handbook will guide you. They rate EPDM to +125 deg C.  As to CUI, that is another issue which CINI will also guide you on.

Thanks Steve... Do you know where can I get a copy of CINI Handbook for download (free or paid)?

You might try googling CINI Insulation Handbook.
