Wobble plate( Swash Plate)

I am designing a swash pump , i need assistance in designing the slider bearing forces, friction and heat generation due to friction and torque to spin the wobble plateto overcome the friction. whoever has designed a swash pump would be helpfull.

RE: Wobble plate( Swash Plate)

Did a 10,000psi pump.  All running elements were fully flooded so I did no worry about friction.  The thrust plate was loaded through a needle bearing in the swash plate assembly.  Fluid exchange removed heat as it was produced; the hydraulic system had excess cooling capacity and chose to ignore the relatively small heat load.

Do you mind to tell, what kind of pump did you do. Can you share the design ?? if not patented.

RE: Wobble plate( Swash Plate)

The design was proprietary.
It was a small fixed-displacement four-piston pump, rotating swash plate.  I do not recall the swash plate angle.  Rotation speed was about 3000rpm.  A charge pump fed the intake of the piston pump to ensure filling the pistons on the intake stroke and keeping the pistons loaded against the swash plate.  The pistons were simple hardened and ground dowel pins with spherical ends ground on them.  The spherical ends of the pin/pistons bore against the hardened thrust plate which was carried by a radial bearing and loaded against a roller thrust bearing loaded against the swash plate which was driven by a motor.
