Centralizers on Augercast Piles

(OP)
Does anyone have some advice on setting guidelines for how many centralizers (footballs - as the foreman call them) should be placed on the reinforcement of an augercast concrete pile?

RE: Centralizers on Augercast Piles

One centralizer every 10 feet.

RE: Centralizers on Augercast Piles

I worked on a project last fall into winter and these were used at spacings of 6000mm in cased auger piles.

Has any authoritative agency commented on this matter?

RE: Centralizers on Augercast Piles

FHWA Geotechnical Engineering Circular #8 says:
"Centralizers are used at spacing of no more than 3m (10ft)"
