LPG Storage Tank

LPG Storage Tank

LPG Storage Tank

(OP)
I'm looking for a storage tank of 100-500 gal. capacity to store liquefied hydrocarbons mix with pressure of 330-350 psig at 115F. This pressure is above a commonly used tanks with 250 psig limit. Any suggestions where to find a tank or info about it? Thanks.

RE: LPG Storage Tank

your local butane/propane distributor shouldhave this "off-the-shelf"

Thanks, but this pressure is higher than local butane/propane distributors handle. I've checked with them and didn't get any helpful advice. Any other ideas? Thanks.

RE: LPG Storage Tank

How sure are you about that LPG design pressure of 330-350 psig ?

IMHO, most LPG storage tanks commercially available are built for a MAWP of 250 psig (propane/ammonia) or 300 psig (propylene)

You can always get a vessel designed to whatever pressure you specify.

Specifically, what MAWP do you desire ?

Thanks MJCronin for the reply.
340 psig at 115F is the calculated pressure of my hydrocarbon stuff. Too bad the propylene cylinders will not fit.
First, I need a small, like under 1,000L, cylinder for development stage, then a larger one, like 4-8K litres.  I hope to find ready avalable cylinders as making a special one(s) is not economically feasible.

RE: LPG Storage Tank

This is likely going to be a custom vessel - as Cronin stated, almost all LPG tanks are 250 Psig design.  You're going to have to find a shop that can build you one or source a used one somewhere.

This still sounds a little strange - how the heck are you going to transport such a wild product?  Most highway LPG transports are the same pressure - 250 Psig.
