PATRAN - How to use Field

PATRAN - How to use Field

(OP)
Hi all,

How do you create a non-spatial field in patran?

I am trying to simulate crushing of a cylinder between one deformable plate and one rigid plate.

The deformable plate needs to move at a rate of 1mm/sec downwards towards the top of the cylinder.

I have tried using the "velocity" tool on patran to move the plate but NASTRAN wigs out when I do that.

I cannot use "displacement" because it doesn't specify the time step.

Any tips/comments is very much appreciated.

Thanks!
