How does ASME define "Room Temperature"?

How does ASME define "Room Temperature"?

How does ASME define "Room Temperature"?

I was able to find a singular reference in ASME Section VIII Div. 1, MANDATORY APPENDIX 40 THERMAL EXPANSION TEST METHOD FOR
GRAPHITE AND IMPREGNATED GRAPHITE

40-5:  the initial temperature of the material, assumed
to be room temperature, 72 ± 4°F (22 ± 2°C)

Slightly different from ambient temperature (temperature of surroundings)ASME Section VIII, Div. 1, UHX 13.3 which lists ambient temperature as 70°F (20°C)

RE: How does ASME define "Room Temperature"?

See also Clause 6.3 of Article 22; SE 999 of ASME Section V where it is 4C to 27C mentioned.

In addition to my above reply, if we analyze first sentence of second paragraph of PG-99, Section I takes ambient temperature different from 20C. Section I understands that ambient temperature may become less than 20C that is why it reads out as " hydrostatic test shall be performed using water not less than ambient temperature but in no case less than 20C".

I think 50F is the right ambient or lower allowed temp
else you have to preheat
