Anchoring into Hollow Core Concrete Slab

Anchoring into Hollow Core Concrete Slab

Anchoring into Hollow Core Concrete Slab

(OP)
Hello, i'm new to this website, and seeking advice on this situation.

I currently have a design which involves a roof that is sequenced like this.

-The top of the roof has a 1/2" layer of tar and gravel
-Underneath is 1" thick rigid board insulation
-Underneath the rigid board insulation is 2" thick 4000 psi solid concrete with fiber reinforcement
-Underneath the solid concrete is an 8" thick hollow core concrete slab (with 6.10" diameter voids within the concrete)

Right now I am planning on anchoring into this roof with a mechanical sleeve anchor, which will go through the built up roofing and rigid insulation and embed 1-1/2" deep into the solid concrete.

Currently, I am concerned with possibly creating a water leak through the roofing with this type of install, and seeking information on how to prevent this.

Appreciate anyone's help on this matter, and hopefully I'm not missing any details provided.

RE: Anchoring into Hollow Core Concrete Slab

Lots of silicon or tar.  Check with a reputable roofer for his thoughts.

You will be lucky not to "break through" the 2'' of concrete due to variations in depth, accuracy, etc....
