Removing elements that meet some criteria

Removing elements that meet some criteria

(OP)
Hi everybody,

I'm trying to model the caving process in mining (progression of a underground excavation in rock).

I have a 2D model formed by a relatively large amount of elements. The analysis is made in several steps. In the first step some elements are removed (*MODEL CHANGE, TYPE=ELEMENT, REMOVE). The idea is, in the next steps, to continue removing elements that reach some failure criteria. The problem is that I don't know wich elements will meet the criteria until the analysis is made, so I can't remove them "by hand" using *MODEL CHANGE.

Any idea will be really appreciated.
Thanks
FGS
