ASME VIII 2010 compared to 2008

ASME VIII 2010 compared to 2008

ASME VIII 2010 compared to 2008

(OP)
Hi all,

Last year I used 2008 ASME VIII codes (DIV 1, 2 and 3) to aid in my design of some API Gate Valves.

However we no longer have the 2008 codes, just the 2010 codes.

Everything looks different! arranged in different manners and also some of the values of constants have changed! or I am going mad!

Has anyone else experienced this?

All my formula reference the 2008 codes, which are now irrelevant. With my API Q1 audit approaching, I don't see a solution other than trying to get my hands on old 2008 ASME section VIII.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

Thanks for taking the time to read

Stuart

Please provide an example of "everything" from the above quote.  There have been changes (as there always is with the Codes), but nothing substantive with respect to the layouts.

RE: ASME VIII 2010 compared to 2008

The only difference I have noticed between same Code is the 2011a Addenda of Division 2. Now that is substantially different from 2010 Edition of Division 2.

But no differences in Division 1, different years.

There is a big difference in format of Division 2 (2007 and later) and Division 1.
