Pattern Edge Blend

Pattern Edge Blend

Pattern Edge Blend

(OP)
Hello,
New user here just switched from SW.
I have a tube with a flange and a rib that has edge blends on it. I can do a circular pattern on the rib but is it possible to pattern the edge blends as well?
Thanks in Advance.
Chris

RE: Pattern Edge Blend

What version of NX are you running?  Could you also provide a simple sketch/picture of what it is that you're attempting to create?

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

RE: Pattern Edge Blend

It is also available in NX6.

RE: Pattern Edge Blend

Another method: if you have used the array command, you can use the 'blend all instances' option when you apply the blend.

RE: Pattern Edge Blend

A tip when you are just getting into NX . . . make sure the entire menu is fully expannded the first couple times you use that command or else you will not know what helpful things are buried in there - such as the "blend all instances" like Cowski mentioned

Thanks mmauldin, that did it for me. I'm just still thinking in SW world.
The edge blend is on the "feature" toolbar therefore it is considered a feature, and using instance feature seems like it should work. To a SW user that is.

Sorry John, I'm on NX7.5

RE: Pattern Edge Blend

First, array the rib THEN apply the Blend with Blend All Instances option turned ON.

While I do respect the logic of thinking in terms of what you know, don't forget parent/child relationships - the blend doesn't exist without the rib, therefore cannot be arrayed without the rib.

Instance Geometry might work in this situation as well.

RE: Pattern Edge Blend

What I do for situations like this is.... feature group the rib and blend together. Then do an instance feature on on the feature group.
Works really well in most cases.
