thread507-218176: AS 4100 vs. AISC Manual of Steel Construction
I am new to the AS 4100 Code. In Sect. 9.1.4 regarding connection design, there is a reference regarding designing connections to the capacity of the minimum member required rather than the capacity of the (larger) member being used. The commentary, Clause 9.1.4, also apparently states that this is acceptable. However, the way the entire section is written, it is unclear to me whether the code is calling for the larger of the capacities to be used.
Are there any AS4100 guys out there who can help me with this?

For rigid connection analysis and design, I don't know consider the connection to be rigid in the analysis unless the connection can transmit 50% of the member capacity.
