Making a fake dimension on a drawing link to a feature dim

Making a fake dimension on a drawing link to a feature dim

(OP)
Sometimes I can't quite get the correct perspective on an auxiliary view to get it to give me the right value, is there a way to use a fake dimension and associate it with a part model parameter? that would be a reasonable exit when you just need to get things done fast but don't want to make it too dumb.

RE: Making a fake dimension on a drawing link to a feature dim

Kevin,
Use a text box, right click inside the text square on drawing, attribute link.  Go back to 3D and pick the constraint, parameter,...
This will link the 3d to 2d.  You will need to draw the dimension leaders.

Regards,
Derek
