Sewer Sludge??

Sewer Sludge??

Sewer Sludge??

(OP)
Ever seen orange sewer sludge? I'm trying to track down a leak, possibly from a sanitary sewer. The sewage running out of the concrete wall first left grey sludge then all of a sudden it turned bright orange (within like 6 hours). Have any of you experianced this before? Or have some kind of chemicals been dumped into the system?

Just curious,
Dave

RE: Sewer Sludge??

I suspect paint or ink

It sounds like your waste stream has a high concentration of iron and the color is probably bateria.

RE: Sewer Sludge??

Agree with Visitor.  Most likely iron bacteria.
