Skin thermoelement demount and using again ?

(OP)
Do you think that i can use a knife edge skin thermowell again, which is welded on an old pipe. i want to demount and use it again.....

RE: Skin thermoelement demount and using again ?

sorry i mean thermoelement , not thermowell :D.

RE: Skin thermoelement demount and using again ?

What are all the costs associated with 'unmounting' this undefined, welded thermoelement and then "re-mounting" it?

Be sure to include
 - number of meetings needed * number of people/meeting * $150 hr/person for discussion, agreement, authorization, reports, etc.
 - hotwork/hazardous/entry work permits?  time involved?
 - ancillary site work costs: manlift? purging?
 - site labor T&M?  4 hours?  @ x $/hr?
Is the vessel/pipe shut down during the welding?  cost to production?
Is the process shut down for this task? (cost of production down time?)

Add all those costs up, plus any not listed and then divide the sum into the cost of a brand new thermoelement and tell us what the quotient is.   You don't have to use US dollars, the concept works in any currency.
