Object won't appear in drawing view

Object won't appear in drawing view

Object won't appear in drawing view

(OP)
NX6.0.2.8

I am working on an assembly drawing originally created in V18.
The assembly drawing files here are structured so that files are included in the drawing file directly as well as in the main component assembly file.  I can not explain the reasoning for this, just have to work within the parameters given.
I added a bolt in model space in the drawing file, but it will not show up in the drawing.  Other previously added copies of the same bolt do show up.  I have checked the most obvious causes that I could think of (ref set, layer, etc), but no luck thus far.
Any advice greatly appreciated, as this needs to get out today.
Worse comes to worse, I may be forced to cheat, but I really don't want to do that.  I never did like being a cartoonist. winky smile
Being a lowly contractor here, I do not have access to GTAC, and probably wouldn't be able to get it in any timely manner.
TIA!

RE: Object won't appear in drawing view

Here is my two cents worth, even tho you probably did some of these:
* Check the visible in view layers, do a "reset to global" if that is available (in V18?).
* Check if somehow it got view dependent erased - in view dependent editing do "delete selected erasures"  and see if it shows up.
* Make all of you hidden lines dashed and see if it shows up.
* make sure everything is unblanked

Thanks, but no luck...
The component is plainly visible in the drawing model, never had a chance to be erased as it never appeared on the drawing, hidden lines don't enter into it, as the related washer and bolt do show up normally and there is nothing for it to hide behind.
hairpull3Some of the CAD procedures here do lend themselves to the creation of head-scratching problems such as this, but it is a holiday weekend, and I'm going home tonite come hell or high water (thus the catoonist reference).  Besides, I don't have appoved OT for this.winky smile

RE: Object won't appear in drawing view

You are adding the bolt to the model and need it to show up in an existing drafting view?
Is the drafting view a standard view (top, front, right, etc) or custom saved view? What is the current work view on the model side when you add the bolt? (not sure this would affect anything but worth a look)

RE: Object won't appear in drawing view

So does it show up when you place a NEW drawing view?

RE: Object won't appear in drawing view

Does it show up in ALL of the model views ? (look at each one seperately)

Good questions... I'll look into them when checkmate completes.yawn2

jerry 1423 got it, or at least led me to find it by examining the other views.
One of the bodies in the drawing model space is to be drilled at assembly and the holes had not been added, which screwed up the display of the bolt going through the non-existant hole.
Thanks!
