changing file sort order

changing file sort order

changing file sort order

(OP)
Hello,

I am wondering if there is a way to change the sorting of numerical filenames when looking for a file in the open/save dialog box.

For example if I want to open a file through solid edge, the browser will sort numerical filenames in order of the number value  e.g.

2
6
10
12
32
201
332

I would rather have it sort the filenames by text strings so that they would be ordered as follows.

10
12
2
201
32
332
6

This makes it much easier to find files that are named by part number when there are numerous files in one folder.

I was able to apply this change generally to windows explorer by changing the registry as instructed in this link:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319827

This seemed to apply the change to most programs but for some reason Solid Edge still sorts files the original way.

Is there some registry file for Solid Edge that needs to be changed? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
James
