Mazak M5 Alarm

Mazak M5 Alarm

Mazak M5 Alarm

(OP)
I am getting alarm 200 on a very old Mazak M5 Mazatrol T plus controller which states "THERMAL TRIP (EMERGENCY STOP)" and in the parameter list manual it says "A motor ON/OFF thermal relay switch has tripped". I have tried taking every motor on the machine out of the equation and have checked the transformer. I still cannot find what is causing the alarm. The machine was moved but has been in working order for a couple weeks. Any help would be appreciated as I am on a week long waiting list for a Mazak technician.

RE: Mazak M5 Alarm

Do you have a circuit diagram? If so look for every thermal switch and test each one. The switch may not necessarily be on a motor.

The good engineer does not need to memorize every formula; he just needs to know where he can find them when he needs them.  Old professor

RE: Mazak M5 Alarm

In my experience, "Thermal relays" are usually a magnetic switch located in the control cabinet.
It will be a push button to reset the relay.

They often have to do with something like a chip conveyer or chip auger. Check if your conveyer is jaming(or something similar).

We have been thru the wiring diagram and tested each one of the relays in the cabinet and they all check out ok. In the manual it says the type of error is "F" malfunctioning with regard to the system (PLC). I turned the machine on one morning and within 5 minutes of power up the alarm was on. I didnt even have time to home the machine.
