Problem with shading and other views with windows 7 and nx6

Problem with shading and other views with windows 7 and nx6

Problem with shading and other views with windows 7 and nx6

(OP)
I am having problems with any model having gaps and triangular holes in the shaded and wireframe views.  Whenever I model anything more than just a simple box, the model has major gaps and looks terrible.  For example, if I take a circle and extrude it, about half of the ends are missing which makes the cylinder look more like a pipe. This happens with any model other than a simple box.  However, in static wireframe, everything looks perfect.  All other views are having this problem though.  We have reinstalled nx with all the maintanence updates with no improvement.  Could this be a memory issue or could there be another cause?  I would think if it was a memory issue then wireframe would look fine though.

What graphics card is in the system?
What version of NX6?
What version of Win7?
How much memory in the computer?

Well its Windows 7 Proffesional, version 6.1.  It has 2GB of ram.  NX 6.0.5.3.  However, there are many other computers in the office running the same version of nx and the same hardware without any problems but I think many of them are running xp.  I do think though there are some machines that have been running windows 7 successfully.  Here's a pict of the problem it's having.

Have you tried what I suggested (just a few minutes ago) in that other thread where you posted this same issue?

Yes I just tried that and it didn't seem to affect anything.  Btw, I didn't mean to post in the other thread but I happened to have it opened and submitted in the wrown one.  Woops!  Any other ideas on what might be going on?

You didn't answer the question as to what graphics card is in the system.
Is this a desktop or laptop computer?
Windows 7 versions are Home, Professional or Ultimate. Which one is on the computer because Home is not officially supported?

2GB of memory is barely enough to load the OS and NX6 and then have memory for your work files. At least Win7 uses less memory than XP and Vista did.

Well I think I figured out the problem.  The graphics card is only the G41 that came with the computer.  Is this most likely the problem?  We added another 2GB of memory which didn't seem to affect anything.  It's a desktop computer with Windows 7.
