Hi everyone,
I'm training on pro/e wf3.0 and facing a very frustrating problem.

I'm supposed to design a differential gear (classic), so you know there are shafts and spline coupling joints, which are not meant to be sectioned in technical drawing. I know the option "Exclude Component" from the Xsec menu, it would work fine for a shaft, but not for the skematic rule to be applied to the spline coupling.

To simplify the problem, let me consider another problem, also encountered while training (I feel that solving it would be a first step toward the solution for my project):
consider an axle, with a keyway, to be assembled with a pulley and a key. Now, define a cross-section into the assembly, the cross section plane contains the axle axis. Assume you exclude the axle from hatching (either into the assembly or the drawing), it will be shown as non-sectioned, but... the key's hatching extends below into the juxtapposed axle! This is certainly an incorrect representation (I'm attaching the relevant pdf file to the post).

For the spline coupling mentioned above, it is even worse, because their underneath "teeth" should be represented with dimmed lines.

I'm at loss as to cope with this. Is there some hope with the function "combined views" in the newest ProE 5.0? Or is the name misleading? The only info on internet is for a course on advanced assembly, no tips.

The sectioning of a view and its compoenets is still being done, even when using Exclude Component. Exclude Component only excludes the cross hatching from appearing on that component.
