NX3 datum axis in sketcher

NX3 datum axis in sketcher

NX3 datum axis in sketcher

(OP)
Hi,

I'm currently doing some work in NX3 and would like to know a way to  "turn off" the automatic creation of datums/datum axes when creating a sketch. I did a search but none of the topics addressed the question.

Thanks,

Steve

RE: NX3 datum axis in sketcher

A Sketch MUST reference something.  It CANNOT be the first object in an NX Part file.

If you do NOT select the planar face of an existing body as the reference 'face', the system will be forced to create an appropriate substitute, in this case, a Datum Plane and at least one Datum axis, as a directional (Horizontal) reference.
