Chopped/Milled Composite Filler Suppliers

Chopped/Milled Composite Filler Suppliers

(OP)
I am looking for a supplier for chopped or milled fibers; nylon, dacron, ceramic, nomex, polypropylene, or kevlar.  Can anyone recommend any US suppliers?  I thought this would be easy to find but it is turning out not to be.

Thanks,
Daniel

RE: Chopped/Milled Composite Filler Suppliers

Are you looking for materials to be used as thickeners rather than reinforcement? Of the fibers you mention I'm only familiar with the use of Kevlar. You can only get this from DuPont and they call it pulp. You may have to search for fiber pulp of fluff. Or look for asbestos replacements.

Now that reminds me. Fiberfrax is a milled ceramic fiber.

Thanks for the info.  I am looking for reinforcement.

Innegrity ( http://www.innegrity.com/ ) supply some interesting PP fibres.

Du Pont of course supply chopped Nomex and Kevlar fibres.

3M produce Nextel alumina, alumina-silica and alumina-silica-boria fibres that can be supplied chopped. The type of ceramic that you want will likely dictate the source.

There must be almost a million billion US suppliers of ordinary thermoplastic Nylon, PP and Dacron (polyester, I think) fibres.
